Southern Africa - Sample Itinerary                                             

Here you’ll find the world’s strangest and most dramatic landscapes, nature’s richest treasure chest of gold and diamonds, a unique wealth of animal and plant life, and a kaleidoscope of exotic sun blessed people. Can there be a land anywhere else on earth more enticing?

Day 1   Arrive at Johannesburg International Airport. The tour company will meet you, provide you with final documents and air tickets, and put you on a flight to Cape Town. On arrival in Cape Town, you will be transferred to the Table Bay Hotel for a three-night stay with bed and breakfast.

Day 2   Depart for a full day tour of the Cape Peninsula, including lunch. Travel via Camps Bay, Hout Bay, and Chapman’s Peak to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. From there you will continue towards Simonstown and Muizenberg. Please note: The drive via Chapman’s Peak is subject to the road being open, alternatively we will drive via Ou Kaapse Weg. Overnight at Table Bay, with bed and breakfast.

Day 3   Today we'll have a full day tour of the Cape Winelands, including lunch. Our first stop will be Paarl, before continuing to Franschhoek for wine tasting. Enjoy lunch in Stellenbosch, and then take a tour through this historic town before returning to Cape Town. Overnight at Table Bay, with bed and breakfast.

Day 4   Depart Cape Town and head over Du Toit’s Kloof Pass and then on to Worcester. Visit Kleinpassie Museum before heading toward Robertson and Montagu. Experience the semi-desert area of Klein Karoo, and then drive on to Barrydale and Calitzdorp, before arriving in Oudtshoorn. Overnight at Hlangana Lodge, with dinner, bed and breakfast.

Day 5   Today we'll visit the famous Cango Caves. Time permitting, we will visit the Crocodile and Cheetah Ranch (optional), then continue to an Ostrich Farm for a guided tour. Afterwards, drive to Robinson Pass covered in Fynbos vegetation to Mossel Bay and visit the “Post Office Tree.” Then we continue on to Knysna. Overnight at Belvidere Manor, with dinner, bed and breakfast.

Day 6   Spend the morning touring around Knysna and the afternoon in Knysna or at leisure. Overnight Belvidere Manor, with dinner, bed and breakfast.

Day 7   This morning we head for the “Garden of Eden” and Plettenberg Bay. We’ll travel through the Groot Rivier and Bloukrans Passes to the Tsitsikamma forests. Continue on to Port Elizabeth and overnight at The Beach Hotel, with dinner, bed and breakfast.

Day 8   We have an early morning departure for the Port Elizabeth Airport to connect with your flight to Johannesburg. You’ll be picked up at the airport and travel via Belfast to Lydenburg and on to Sabie. Travel via Long Tom Pass, Mac Mac Falls to Lone Creek Falls and then to Mpumalanga. Lunch today is on your own. Overnight Lone Creek River Lodge, with dinner, bed and breakfast.

Day 9   Today we travel via Pilgrim’s Rest on the Panorama Route featuring the Blyde River Canyon, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, God’s Window and Lisbon Falls. Arrive at your private game lodge in time for tea. We’ll have an evening game drive in an Open Safari Landrover with an experienced Ranger and Tracker. Return to the lodge for dinner served in an African Boma. We’ll spend the next three nights at the Exeter Game Lodge on a full board basis, which includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and all game viewing activities.

Day 12  Around mid morning you will be driven to Kruger Mpumalanga Airport for your flight to Johannesburg. On arrival you’ll be transferred to Caesars and the Emperor Hotel. You’ll have time to freshen up before your dinner ride out to Pretoria. After dinner return to the hotel for your overnight stay, with bed and breakfast.

Day 13  After breakfast you’ll be taken to the Johannesburg Airport for your flight to Victoria Falls. You’ll be picked up and transferred to the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge for a two-night stay, with dinner, bed and breakfast. Dinner this evening will be at The Boma Restaurant.

Day 14  This morning you’ll travel to Victoria Falls and the rainforest, followed by the Traditional Living Village. You’ll return to the lodge for lunch, which will be on your own. This afternoon you will be picked up by Zambezi Wilderness and taken to the jetty for your sundowner cruise, including drinks and snacks. After the cruise, you’ll return to the lodge for the evening.

Day 15  This morning is at your leisure. Around 11:00 a.m., you’ll be taken to Victoria Falls Airport to connect with your flight to Johannesburg, where you’ll check in for your flight back home.

Africa.

This itinerary is subject to change without notice. Uniglobe Accent Travel will only make changes due to unavailability of hotels, or sights being closed due to unforeseen circumstances.

A valid passport is required for travel to Southern Africa. Your passport must be valid for six months after the last date of travel in South Africa and Zambia. Items excluded: Meals not specified, gratuities, items of personal nature, and visas.

Medical Requirements:
The only medical needs for clients traveling to Southern Africa will be Malaria tablets. We do however recommend current tetanus shots.
